PODCAST
reviews |
| Podcasts
are a great way to get yourself familiar
with all kinds of artists and styles you
might like to consider for your next
purchase. It is also a very good way of
experiencing Reggae in an alternative way as
many podcasts are de facto non-stop mixes,
often put together by skillful DJ's and
other Sound System personnel. The Dubroom
has reviewed many of the best podcast(ers)
throughout the years, all of which you can
discover in our reviewed podcast pages. Be
sure to also check out the Dubroom's own
podcast. A link to the latest chapter can be
found on the left side of this page.

VINTAGE
ROOTS DUB
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
March 2008 - Vintage Roots DUB takes us
on a Version Excursion extra-ordinary
straight back to Jamaica during the 1970's.
An all-killer-no-filler selection of
stricktly DUB from a time and place wherein
the technique was still young.
This
impressive no-nonsense mix by Australian
based DJ Delay contains a selection of
killer DUBs, wherein our host gives us a
taste of the works of the hottest engineers
around: King Tubby, Ernest Hoo-Kim,
Scientist and Prince Jammy among others.

TRIP
DUB
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
March 2008 - They're testing the sirens
outside, when the music of TRIP DUB plays
inside in order to be reviewed. The sounds
blend into one, as our host DJ Chill Will
takes us to outer DUB SPACE once again in
his third Podcast.
Countless
of contemporary electronic producers know
their musical foundation to be Reggae Music,
especially DUB. It has come so far, that
there is a whole genre called DUB which may
not necessarily be identified as such by the
lovers of Reggae DUB.

DOUBLE
DUB DELIGHT
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
March 2008 - Puritans and Preterists
may not particularly find themselves knowing
just what is so delightful in the 2nd
episode of the DUBSESSIONS Podcast, but the
apprecilover of the better DUB Works of Art
will simply Chill out and enjoy over an hour
of stricktly good vibes.
Definitely,
the lines of Reggae Music are crossed in
most titles in this selection of yet another
hour of what is known by many under the name
"DUB". But since the same can be
said about certain Dancehall mixes, the US
based DUB SESSIONS Podcasts shouldn't be
seen as a stricktly Reggae mix but that is
by no means a reason to lay it aside.

STEP
IT! WALK AND SKANK IT!
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
March 2008 - Since the late 1970's,
they have been blessing the (DUB) Reggae
massive. And now, the UK based Sound System
Ambassada comes again with some Hard
Steppin' Dubs and Heavy Skankers to bless up
the online (DUB) Reggae Community.
DJ Ian Irie
has this special talent to mix all kinds of
styles of Reggae Music, even from all kinds
of times and places, into one long non-stop
mix that stand on it's own. We've said it
before: it's the mark of a veteran selector,
someone who knows his Reggae and knows
himself to be part of the music rather than
a mere player of tunes.
