PODCAST
reviews |
| Podcasts
are a great way to get yourself familiar
with all kinds of artists and styles you
might like to consider for your next
purchase. It is also a very good way of
experiencing Reggae in an alternative way as
many podcasts are de facto non-stop mixes,
often put together by skillful DJ's and
other Sound System personnel. The Dubroom
has reviewed many of the best podcast(ers)
throughout the years, all of which you can
discover in our reviewed podcast pages. Be
sure to also check out the Dubroom's own
podcast. A link to the latest chapter can be
found on the left side of this page.

MINISTRY MIXDOWN #3
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
July 2007 - In this last episode of a
Mixdown Triplet, Sista Simone ministers to
the World Wide Roots Massive with a solid
mix of some serious music.
Yes, we're
being treated with an hour long of stricktly
Roots and Culture, from different times and
places. German based ROOTS MINISTRY shows
once more that they know how to bless up Jah
people with the sounds of I and I Culture.

MINISTRY MIXDOWN #2
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
July 2007 - The second edition in a triplet
of skillfully mixed Roots 'n' Culture by the
German based collective Roots Ministry
contains a selection by Papa Jason.
He
apparently specializes in Jamaican Rockers,
as he plays a number of classic tunes that
will make everyone move and groove, even
those that may not have been around at the
time the music was produced.

ROOTS
MINISTRY MIXDOWN #1
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
July 2007 - In what can only be described as
an impressive and perfect piece of skillful
work, German based Sista Simone introduces
the Roots Ministry Massive to I and I, the
online (DUB) Reggae community.
She knows
her music, she knows her turntables, she
knows her effect devices and most of all:
she knows how to keep the music and the
message flowing from the top to the very
last drop.

BOOM
SHACK ATTACK: EARLY DANCEHALL
DUBROOM PODCAST REVIEW |
| WWW,
July 2007 - When Rockers became Rub a Dub,
this was a few years before Rub a Dub became
Dancehall with the rise of digital
technology in the Jamaican Studio's. This
particular podcast captures the vibes of the
time, a time often misunderstood.
BROADCASTER
COMMENTS: Inspired by my old mate
Tim.P's excellent mid 80s episodes here's a
little selection of the records that lifted
the music out the doldrums of 82-84 and got
me buying records again. Respect also to my
good friend Gaffa Blue who compiled some
killer Jammys cassettes back in the late
80s/early 90s realising that this music was
the Studio 1 & Treasure Isle of it's
days.
