the host announces in the show notes,
archived shows won't be available for free
download for eternity. With no thanks to the
mainstream music industry, that tries to
kill Internet radio.
MESSAGE
FROM DR. STRANGEDUB: Recently the
program director of KFAI-FM made it known
that the station would like me (and others)
to take down the MP3s of programs archived
at OurMedia.org (and Internet Archive). The
legal murkiness is mostly an issue of how
long copyrighted material is available for
download. Thus, rather than having programs
archived for years, I'm going to cut back to
a period of several months. NO programs have
been taken down yet, but I will start
removing the oldest programs sometime soon.
So.....get
the oldest stuff now...before it's gone.

If
there is such thing as a "typical"
Echo Chamber program, this would be one of
those... A bunch of new dubs, some classic
dubs, some choice roots, and a bit of
worldbeat and modern jazz to complete the
show. From the excellent new "Mexican
Sessions" by Up, Bustle & Out, to
the Aggrolite's new "Reggae Hit
L.A."; from the new Version Xcursion
"Musical Revolution" with Ammoye
on vocals, to great new dub from Jah Wobble
("Heart & Soul") and Doctor
Echo and friends ("Dub Sac"). Then
we added great bits from The Technician,
Zofka, Bookmobile + Zapan, Messian Dread,
Bim Sherman, Dennis Bovell, Juergen Reiter
Orkaan Orchestra, Inner Visions, Elliot
Caine Quintet, Pablo Gad, Ras Amerlock,
Subatomic Sound System, and more...including
more new music from Jahranimo, Gyptian,
Balkan Beat Box, and Ijahlar. Quite a mix
indeed!
