Gregory
Isaacs aka "The Cool Ruler"
started his carreer in the 1970's. He's best
known for his numerous lovers' tunes,
wherein he sings with his particular nosey
voice. Songs like "Night Nurse",
for example. In this video, we'll get to know Gregory
back in the 1970's. A lot of things were yet
to come. The video is part of a documentary
"The Land Of Look Behind" and
deals specifically with Gregory's label
"African Museum".
We see a side of Gregory which has not
been portrayed that much. As he explains how
Rastafari is part of his music, having an
impressive set of dreadlocks on his head,
here is a completely different Gregory than
the one most people (think to) know
nowadays.
The video also contains some clips from a
concert on Jamaica. Backed by members of the
Roots Radics band and supported by an
enthousiastic audience, this is pure
niceness.
