The
vocal group Culture, spearheaded by Joseph
Hill, made an enormous impact with their
debute album "Two Sevens Clash".
The albums that followed became classic
documents of Rockers Reggae as well.
With a voice similar as that of Winston
Rodney (Burning Spear), Jospeh Hill has
brought comfort and strength to millions of
people with his outspoken messages of
Rastafari in a Roots Rock Reggae Style. Has
brought, because unfortunately Joseph Hill
passed away in 2006 during a German tour.
But throughout the decades, Culture have
kept true to their faith which can be seen
in this performance at the Rebel Salute
festival in Jamaica. A festival, which in
itself is not just open for any artist: the
vast majority of them will have something to
say from a conscious perspective. So playing
at Rebel Salute is a statement of
consciousness in itself!
