story of Black Uhuru is very interesting.
Throughout the decades, members of the vocal
group listened to names like Mikal Rose and
Don Carlos. Most of the time, Sly and Robbie
placed their mark on the music and it has
been said that Sly and Robbie were
Black Uhuru.
"Solidarity" comes from a time
many people consider to be the golden years
of the group. Members were Mikal Rose, Puma
jones and Duckie Simpson. The music was very
progressive, the "new" electronic
possibilities were used in a very creative
way.
The clip, produced in 1984, starts with
the members introducing themselves. Sly
Dunbar playing an electronic drum kit, a
younger Mikal Rose dancing, this video is
well worth a watch.
