October 2008 - Where Reggae is mostly a
studio music, there are several Reggae Bands
touring the world with legendary tour
status. Misty in Roots is not the least of
them, as this video registration of a
concert in the Holy Land clearly shows.
In no specific order, but in superb video and
sound quality, we can experience seven tracks by
the legendary Misty in Roots. The band has been
touring ever since the 1970's when they started as
part of what was a "band boom" in the UK
during that time.
Their 1978 album "Live at the
Countervision" showed a band that added a
dimension to the idea of "Live Reggae":
their music simply sounded better during a
concert.
2008: three decades and a whole lot of
experience later, we can see a video of Misty and
Roots playing several of the classic tracks in the
Holy Land. This is Live Reggae as Live Reggae
should be.
