Reggae Music originated in Jamaica during
the 1960's, suffering was -still is- order
of the day. To "make it" in the
Music Business wasn't just a dream of
fortune and fame, but a way of...survival!
Things and times change, but it remains a
fact that only a few people actually manage
to become like millionaires out of Reggae
Music. Usually, the music has to be changed
in order to make it acceptable for the
so-called main-stream, where the real money
is.
Take the Gladiators. Decades after
members of this original Jamaican Reggae
Band started to play the -then- new form of
music called Reggae, they are still working
very hard.
This video shows as they perform a truly
classic track. "Soul Rebel" is all
about Reggae Music being a Rebel Music, and
it's not the first time the Gladiators
perform the tune.
In fact, they have been playing this one
since the 1970's and it shows.
