MISTY IN ROOTS - POOR AND NEEDY
(1983)
When
Reggae Music came into existence during the
late 1960's, the music was -and still is-
predominantly a studio-based music and the
"bands" were predominantly studio
bands. But with the success of Bob Marley
and the Wailers, the UK witnessed the rise
of a new generation of Reggae Artists, as
one band after another was born.
Misty in Roots was one of these bands.
They are known to be one of the best Live
Reggae Bands ever, but in this video we see
them performing for John Peel's BBC
Sessions.
Enjoy some rare and classic material from
a band that has yet to meet it's rival,
decades after the group was originally
formed.
