B - GATHER AND COME |
| As
soon as Dancehall artists start to sing
Consciousness, people will start calling it
"Roots Reggae". Anthony B is such
an artist: niceing up the dance with
consciousness. |

| BURNING
SPEAR - PEOPLE OF THE WORLD |
| When
he made this album in the mid 1980's,
Burning Spear could allready be seen as a
Roots Reggae veteran. Staying true to his
roots, and in the same time reaching out to
the people of the world. You can hear it in
the music! |

 |
| BURNING
SPEAR - LIVE IN PARIS ZENITH '88 |
| A
very impressive live concert, recorded on a
digital 48 track recorder and originally
released as a double album. The tracks are
long, well worked out and the vibe is simply
unique. |

SPEAR - FREEMAN |
| Burning
Spear is an example for all independent
artists: he manages to keep everything in
his own hands for decade after decade. This

freedom. |

| BURNING
SPEAR - RASTA BUSINESS |
| Winston
Rodney's 2004 contribution to the Reggae
Community has many different vibes, but all
of them are of equal quality. Rasta Burning
Spear knows his business! |

 |
| BURNING
SPEAR - OUR MUSIC |
| The
title of this 2005 release is a nice
statement by Burning Spear: there is no way
he will walk away from Reggae Music, even
though they want it. Simply because, he
says, it is... our music! |
|

| CULTURE
- GOOD THINGS |
| Good
Things was released in the early days of the
Compact Disc. It had a few "bonus
tracks" that were not released on
vinyl. It's called Making Use Of Good
Things. Highly danceable, exctended tracks
and dubs. Everything in a live feel,
too. |
|
|
 |
| CULTURE
- PAYDAY |
| With
a DUB counterpart mixed by none other then
Scientist, this one becomes interesting for
DUB heads as well as appricilovers of Joseph
Hill's Culture. Culture stays loyal to the
Roots in message as well as music. |

 |
| DON
CARLOS - DEEPLY CONCERNED |
| This
album was originally released in the late
1980's. The title track is about Apartheid
in South Africa. In this time, not too much
good Roots Reggae was released. This one is
an exception. |
