As the colofon on the
frontpage says, this website promotes Reggae
Music and Consciousness.
High Quality, Authentic DUB
and other REGGAE MUSIC, to be precise, You
can find loads and loads of music through
the Dubroom.
First of all, the music that
is released from the website's own studio,
and but doesn't stop there.
Take the MP3 Reviews, just
one part of this website. The Dubroom scans
the Internet for High Quality free and legal
(DUB) Reggae MP3's, reviews them and places
links to them on the biggest MP3 Portal
related to DUB and (other) Reggae. The music
comes from well-known artists as well as the
Top of the online Dub and Reggae community.
Needles to say, that these
artists also find their way to the website
on their quest for online promotion. They've
put their music online and want to be heard.
And there are many websites
that offer MP3 hosting services to the
online DUB community. IUMA, for example. Or
VERSIONIST, with one of the most liveliest
communities.
For you, the music consumer,
browsing through these websites to find that
one or two gems can be really
time-consuming.
Many artists are trying to
find their musical improvement by
communicating with colleagues and they put
their tune online mainly to get feedback
from other artists. They put tunes online
that are not necessarily aimed at the
consumers of music, but rather for review by
fellow artists.
And yes, there's also a lot
of crap out there. A percentage which
exceeds the 75% with big ease.
So yes, it time consuming.
But there are also a few
artists that release professional tunes and
that's where the Dubroom begins to be
relevant. For you, the music lover, and for
the artists themselves.
The Dubroom only reviews the
best of the best in the field of (DUB)
Reggae. Decisions whether to place a link or
not, and where, is based on decades of
listening to and experiencing the music we
know as (DUB) Reggae. And the same principle
applies to all the musical sections of the
Dubroom. When it's good (enough), the
music will be reviewed, if it's not, then
there will be no review or link.
This is done because of
several reasons.
One: When something is
placed anywhere on the Dubroom, it is
considered good enough. Even with the
ratings: the lowest rating doesn't mean a
negative judgment, for when a contribution
doesn't add to the high standard, it's
simply not mentioned.
Another: You don't have to
browse again through a lot of stuff you
don't really want. That's why you came here
in the first place. Besides, reading
unnecessary, negative reviews which are
useless for the artist too for obvious
reasons can also turn out to be quite
boring.
And these are only two.
The Dubroom itself, is
completely "site-independent".
Only the quality of the final product, the
musical work, is what matters. We pay
respect to all those who deserve that
respect.
To the artists, for creating
the music, and to you, the music listener,
that audience.
We don't "sell"
places on the website to make you click on
music that you don't like unless we make it
clear that it's a "word from our
sponsor" or something like that.
We also have no scripts that
generate "artists of the day" on a
random basis.
As said: When there is a
link to music on the Dubroom, it's there
because it's good quality.
The Dubroom website has a
wide recognition throughout the online
Reggae community. You'll find links on many
other sites, and also search engines place
the website high on their search results.
And that is not because the Dubroom pays for
that.
Many people visit the site,
in search for good MP3 files, or to get to
know Reggae music otherwise. Many Reggae
fans have expressed their satisfaction with
the different services provided by the
Dubroom. And not only Reggae fans, also
musicians have their own section on the site
in which they can find information or
discuss musical production themes with
fellow musicians.
A large group of visitors
are interested in the social and spiritual
side of Reggae Music. Since Reggae Music and
"Consciousness" are connected in
the same way as the Gospel and the Bible,
it shouldn't have to be a surprise to see
that a big part of the website is reserved
for information and articles.
We have several research and
information projects. The Babylon Observer,
for example, where you can find a lot of
information about Babylon's "New World
Order". There are several articles
and interviews, most are thought-provoking or
informative.
The Dubroom is also real
place, even older than the website! Messian
Dread's Dubwise Studio contains computers,
recording devices, mixing boards and
effects. Here the Riddims and Dubs
are created in an Ire atmosphere.
Just like the website, the
"real" Dubroom isn't only a studio
either. Music makes you going on, but it's
consciousness that forms the inspiration for
the music. So there is a lot of information:
books and other research material. And
people who know it's location, come to the
Dubroom to reason with others.
Who is behind this all?
Most of the work is done by
Messian Dread. He is a respected DUB artist
and an original independant free-thinker. The Dubroom is
his "unfinished" project. A
project with many different aspects! Being
disabled (something he doesn't really want
to talk about), he's working on it as much
as he can. But even if he's not working on
the website, there is enough already to keep
you on-site for many days.
To say that the Dubroom is a
one-man's project goes too far, though.
There are several people who contribute to
the website in one way or another. Through
writing articles, for example.
Have a pleasant stay in the
Dubroom!
